At Mera Ghar Orphanage, our school gives children more than lessons. It gives them stability, confidence, and a real path forward. We teach the national curriculum with extra support in reading, math, languages, and life skills. Learning here is free for all resident children and selected day-scholars from neighboring communities.

What we teach

We follow the national curriculum and add targeted support where students need it most.
- Core subjects: Urdu, English, Mathematics, General Science, Social Studies

Enrichment: Art, Music, Physical Education, Library, Computer Studies

Life skills: Hygiene, communication, conflict resolution, financial basics, civic values

Digital skills: Typing, safe internet use, Google Workspace basics, coding with Scratch (from Grade 5)

Reading recovery: Intensive phonics and leveled readers for children catching up
Assessment: We use low-pressure weekly check-ins, term projects, and end-term exams. Progress plans are shared with each child’s caregiver or house parent.
A school day at a glance
- 7:30–8:00 Breakfast and morning check-in
- 8:00–10:00 Literacy and numeracy blocks
- 10:00–10:20 Snack and outdoor break
- 10:20–12:30 Science or Social Studies + small-group support
- 12:30–1:15 Lunch and prayer time
- 1:15–2:30 Enrichment: art, music, PE, or computers
- 2:30–3:30 Homework club and tutoring (optional)
